The first verse of this song
actually came to me while waiting at a stop light trying
to turn into a Subway restaurant to get lunch. I jotted
it down on a CD cover. After I went through the drive
through and got my lunch, I pulled over in the parking
lot and finished most of the lyrics...
Fall On Your Knees and Pray
When there’s nothing left for you
to hold on to
But the last frayed thread of forgotten faded hope
You dread seeing tomorrow and the light of day
For fear of what you’ve lost at the end of your rope
[Chorus]
(Close your eyes)
Close your eyes
(And pray)
Close your eyes and pray
(Fall on your knees)
Fall on your knees
(And pray)
Fall on your knees and pray
You’ve exhausted all the many avenues
And the friends you trusted now are compromising
And there are no answers to your endless questions
As the tide of desperation keeps on rising
[Repeat chorus]
[Last chorus]
(Your heart)
Give your heart to Jesus
(Your troubles)
Jesus will take them away
(Fall on your knees)
Fall on your knees
(And pray)
Fall on your knees and pray
(And pray)
Fall on your knees and pray
